REV and CoBank contribute $30,000 to three South Louisiana non-profits
Local communications provider and rural America-serving cooperative bank make joint-donation to Cooking in Central, Foundation for Woman’s, and Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation
Gonzales, La. – REV, a locally owned, communications provider in Southeast Louisiana, recently joined in with CoBank’s annual Sharing Success program to provide $30,000 to three local non-profit organizations making community-specific and lasting impacts in the region.
Each year, CoBank — a cooperative bank serving the nation’s rural economy — matches partners’ donations to support community initiatives across the country. REV recently leveraged this opportunity to double its contributions to three area non-profits, further amplifying their ability to serve local needs and strengthen communities.
“We’re proud to stand alongside CoBank in supporting the incredible work of these organizations,” said Josh Descant, CEO of REV. “At REV, we believe in the power of connection – not just through technology, but also through community partnerships that uplift, protect and empower those around us.”
This year’s selected non-profits serve a wide range of causes, from youth development and healthcare to food access and community building. The combined $30,000 donation aids in the furtherance of each organization’s mission here in Southeast Louisiana.
“Our REV team has deep, local roots and profound pride when it comes to supporting local organizations who care about the same things we care about,” said Tressy Leindecker, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing. “We thank CoBank for the ongoing support and remain grateful to all our non-profit partners for their incredible work.”
The three non-profit beneficiaries of REV and CoBank’s Sharing Success program and their respective donation amounts (after REV’s and CoBank’s partnership matches were applied) are:
- Cooking in Central – $10,000.00 (https://www.cookingincentral.com/)
- Foundation for Woman’s – $15,000.00 (https://www.womans.org/foundation)
- Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation – $5000.00 (https://bluebootfoundation.com)
Representatives from recipient organizations conveyed their appreciation for the ongoing support – each surprised by the presentation of a ceremonial oversized check in honor of the philanthropic contributions.
“We are truly blessed to have REV as a sponsor for the Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation. Without REV and all other sponsors, our mission of spreading awareness and educating the community on the dangers of childhood drowning would not be possible,” says Nica Orgeron-Paolillo, executive director of Riley John’s Blue Boot Foundation. “Childhood drowning is the number one cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4 and the second leading cause of death in children 5-14 years old. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you guys so much for your support in helping us save lives.”
“Rev and CoBank’s partnership fuels the heart of Cooking in Central, helping us serve not just meals, but hope and opportunity to those who need it most,” says Lynn Ross, president of Cooking in Central. “The funds generated benefit various educational, charitable, and disaster relief causes which make a difference and help local neighbors in need.”
“We are grateful for REV’s continued support of BUST Breast Cancer and their commitment to the health and well-being of women across Louisiana. Their partnership has helped us expand access to essential services at Woman’s, including mammograms, care coordination, and support for breast cancer patients,” says Ali Landry, Foundation for Woman’s president and chief philanthropy officer. “REV’s generosity allows us to reach more women, travel more miles, and provide critical services where they’re needed most. Every contribution makes a difference – 100% of these funds go directly toward programs such as financial assistance for medications, cancer rehabilitation, support groups, survivorship resources, and palliative care. Together, we’re working to improve health outcomes for women throughout our state.”
