Rural Louisianans have felt shut out without broadband. The state has a plan to change that

Some 42 million Americans have no access to broadband. In Louisiana, 1.7 million people, more than a third of the state’s population, have this critical need.
On August 28, 2023, REV along with Lafourche Parish President Archie Chaisson, the Office of Broadband Development and Connectivity, Congressman Troy Carter, Congressman Garrett Graves, White House officials, dignitaries, local leaders and community members celebrated the completion of the Lafourche Crossing GUMBO project (Granting Underserved Municipalities Broadband Opportunities).
