Marking 20 years, REV’s Game of the Week expands high school sports coverage to include 30 matchups this football season

In partnership with Varsity Sports Now, REV’s high school football schedule now includes schools from 13 parishes

Gonzales, La. – REV is expanding coverage of Game of the Week to include 10 additional football games for the upcoming season. In partnership with Varsity Sports Now (VSN), REV has a full lineup of exciting matchups each week including schools from 13 parishes across South Louisiana such as Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and West Baton Rouge.

“Our partnership with Ascension Parish Schools laid the groundwork for our success with Game of the Week, and today, we are excited to replicate that hometown achievement in other communities we serve,” says Josh Descant, REV’s CEO. “Celebrating 90 years in business, REV is proud to see the expansion of our local sports coverage – matching the growing demand of our fiber internet service we deliver across South Louisiana.”

This year marks the 20th anniversary of REV Game of the Week, which began in Ascension Parish with weekly game rebroadcasts. Coverage now features two or three livestreamed sporting events each week and, since 2020, includes annual REV Tailgate Shows highlighting local high school students from multiple parishes.

“Over the past 20 years, REV’s Game of the Week has evolved and grown into a full-scale, high-quality production every Friday night during football season,” says Tressy Leindecker, REV’s EVP of Sales and Marketing. “We are thrilled to not only continue our commitment to bringing live coverage of local high school football in Ascension Parish, but now we have the opportunity to broadcast more local games to our viewers in other markets. The partnership with VSN comes at the perfect time as REV continues growing and serving more communities, including East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa parishes.”

Varsity Sports Now is a subscription-based service offering live and on-demand coverage of local high school sports throughout Louisiana on www.varsitysportsnow.com and its app, available on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, iOS, and Android devices. VSN will livestream 10 additional games as part of REV’s Game of the Week expansion schedule, and then rebroadcast them on REV TV the next day and upload them to REV Sports I’s YouTube page.
