Not all fiber is created equal.
What’s the difference?
Get fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) Internet.
In 2015, we launched the largest fiber-to-the-home build in Ascension and Livingston parishes. The expansion brought GIG speeds to rural neighborhoods, which was a first for Louisiana. As we look forward to the future of connectivity, our mission continues – to bring best-in-class service and customer support to households across Southeast Louisiana.
US vs THEM
FIBER to the HOME (FTTH)
REV’s fiber network is fiber-to-the-home. This type of connection uses fiber all the way to the outside of your home.

Why does it matter?
-
More fiber = more resilient
-
More reliable internet speeds
-
No signal loss
-
More secure
FIBER to the CURB (FTTC)
Many providers use fiber to the curb instead of fiber-to-the-home. With fiber to the curb, fiber connection is laid to a pedestal that sits in the yard, but then the signal transfers to a copper cable from the pedestal to the home.

Why does it matter?
-
Less fiber = more copper cables
-
Less reliable speeds
-
More signal loss
-
Less secure
