REV Broadband awards surprise donations to South Louisiana non-profits aiding communities still rebuilding and recovering from Hurricane Ida

Celebrating the season of giving, Lafourche Parish’s Bless Your Heart and St. John United Way receive donations from Louisiana’s largest, locally owned telecommunications provider

Gonzales, La. – REV Broadband – the parent company of RTC, EATEL, EATEL Business, Vision Communications and VENYU – recently sprung some seasonal surprises on a couple non-profits who have been supporting and are continuing to aid Hurricane Ida-impacted communities since the storm’s landfall.

Representatives from both organizations were invited to individual meetings to discuss the potential of filming a production about their work in the community — specifically in the form of aiding citizens affected by Hurricane Ida. In the place of a meeting, the non-profit representatives were surprised with a donation made on behalf of REV’s executive leadership.

Upon arrival, representatives from Bless Your Heart and St. John United Way were instead surprised with a giant ceremonial check (and a real check, of course) presented by various members of REV’s leadership team.

“We continue to hear so much about the great work these two organizations continue to do – bringing positive, lasting impact to the communities we serve and live within,” said Peter Louviere, CFO of REV Broadband/Vision Communications. “It’s not only an honor to be able to present these donations to such deserving organizations, but to do so on behalf of our 400 employees really makes this rewarding.”

“Bless Your Heart is overwhelmed and humbled that RTC – EATEL – Vision would choose to donate to our organization. RTC – EATEL – Vision’s support of our organization exemplifies its continued dedication to help Lafourche Parish recover after the devastating effects of Hurricane Ida,” said Jeray Jarreau, a local Larose attorney, board member and co-founder of Bless Your Heart. “I know I speak on behalf of all of our board members when I express my most sincere gratitude to RTC – EATEL – Vision for its most recent donation! Thank you!”

“St. John United Way is so thankful for the generous donation from RTC to our Hurricane Ida Relief Fund,” said Artis Williams, executive director of St. James United Way. “These funds will be used in partnership with the St. John Recovery Group for Unmet Needs (uninsured, under insured, elderly, disabled & veterans).”

Bless Your Heart is a Larose-based non-profit that supports and enriches lives and inspires hope by addressing social, educational and financial needs in the Bayou Region.

St. John United Way is the St. John the Baptist Parish’s United Way organization that unites people and resources to create lasting changes in St. John the Baptist Parish by focusing on the building blocks (health, education and financial stability) for a better life.

Both organizations continue to play critical roles in their respective parishes’ recovery and rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Ida.
